Older age can be a risk factor for memory loss, however when memory loss goes beyond forgetfulness or absentmindedness, there could be more happening in the brain. Alzheimer’s and Dementia are degenerative brain diseases and are difficult not only for the person who may have one of these diseases, but also for family members and caretakers. Seeing a loved one robbed of their memory can be painful; those who suffer from these diseases lose the ability to do everyday tasks that were once commonplace. Understanding the signs and symptoms as well as causes and risks can be helpful.
