Executive Director's Corner

Just when staff thought it could not get any busier at the health center, we just hired two new full time family practice physician's and a part time dentist! Though we are indeed quite cramped in our current space within the Municipal Building, we had to respond to the growing demand and need for more primary care services. Welcome Dr. Richard Aubry and Dr. Joseph Spychalski. Welcome back to Mina Paul D.M.D.! On most busy days, there will not be an extra room in the facility. It makes the new Health Center facility even more anticipated!

Nine months into this fiscal year 2002, finds the Health Center's operations doing very well. Our $2.8M budget is pleasantly running under budget with a healthy revenue stream. This is despite the fact that the health center has a 22% uninsured patient population. We are proud that last year alone we provided over $ 850,000 of free health services to members of our community. We look forward to future expansion of our services and safety net as we help build a healthier community.

Part of the mission of the heath center is to respond to public health issues and concerns. We regularly provide outreach and screenings at various community sites. Please let us know if you have a particular need or wish to collaborate on something. Special thanks to Dr. Jan Protiva and Dr. Danny Coles, Heidi Reichenberger R.D, Mary Rourke R.D.H, Grace McMann C.P.N.P, Roseanne Hartley R.N, Pat Lovallo R.N, Ann Ranahan R.N, Karen Lawrence and Will Lopes for all their participation and efforts to provide community outreach.
