GRHO's Annual Meeting

For four years now, the health center Board has awarded its Hermena Clark Service Award and, as a result, has transformed the annual membership meeting into a showcase for the community. THe event site rotates each year to every neighborhood in our serrvice area. This recent annual meeting was held in West Roxbury.

Prior to shining the spotlight on Alice Hennessey, a local luminary and recipient of this year's Hermena Clark Service Award, President Walter Michalik welcomed the gathering and presented reports on our building project. Fundraising chairman, Joseph Faletra reported on the Board's on-going fundraising efforts. And, Executive Director, Barbara Lottero reported on the health center's utilization, census volume, and finances.

In keeping with our tradition of recognition, Mr. Paul McCaffrey, Jr. who had nominated Alice Hennessey for the evening's award, presented Alice's credentials and her lifetime of contribution to our quality of life not only in this neighborhood, but throughout the city of boston. Mayor Menino then joined the presenters and also spoke on behalf of Alice Hennessey who, herself then addressed the gathering.

Next year's annual meeting will be held at a location in Roslindale tentatively scheduled for October 23.
