ABOUT
The Greater Roslindale Health Org., inc. is a 501(c) (3) non profit started by a group of local residents in 1975 in response to a lack of health services in their communities. In 1977 the health center opened its doors, doing business as the Greater Roslindale Medical and Dental Center (GRMDC), with a mission to offer accessible and affordable comprehensive primary care services to the residents of Roslindale, West Roxbury and Hyde Park. To this day, it is the only health center serving the three communities.

The Board of Directors are elected each year at the “Annual Meeting” in October from the “general membership” of the Organization. There can be thirteen elected members, three of whom shall be providers and ten of whom shall be consumers. Consumer seats are apportioned among Roslindale, West Roxbury and Hyde Park in proportion to the use of the Health Center by the residents of each geographic area in the preceding year. In addition, there can be two at-large seats to provide representation for those communities outside of the service area. All Board of Directors are unpaid volunteers.

SERVICE AWARD
Each year at the Center's Annual Meeting in October, GRMDC gives the Hermena F. Clark Service Award to recognize an individual who has unselfishly served the health needs of the Hyde Park, Roslindale, and/or West Roxbury community

HERMENA F. CLARK (1914-1998) a long - time Board Director of the Greater Roslindale Health Organization Inc., Mrs. Hermena F. Clark was a well-known and respected member of our community. As a caregiver to more than sixty foster children, Mrs. Clark's touch has reached across the generations. Remaining active despite physical challenges, Mrs. Clark was a strong advocate for the under served.
